Hot Dog Tycoon was our classes first attempt with the Core Editor. What was originally a completely different idea we had to start from scratch again midway through our semester. As a result the game suffers from a lack of polish. The game functioned well but as Core has received new versions beyond it's open alpha stage the game has depreciated and our functions no longer work the same. The game was intended to be an idle game that the player could play for a while but leave and get back to it later and receive their rewards. We got the basic game-play loop complete but didn't quite finish the idle aspect of the game itself.
For this game we used an RPG AI kit and repurposed it for the use of our game. The AI checks for a player near it's vision or 'vision sense' and pursued the player waiting at the hotdog cart. In addition to developing the AI I and teammate were responsible for updating the hot dog carts that were awarded on ascension level up for the player. Through time the methods we used were depreciated and no longer function as it did in the past. But the assets still remain in game an din the environment. Below you can find a video of gameplay as it stands today.
