Design

Purpose-to effectively implement the pattern features in photoshop

  • Contrast-I utilized the white patterned background to make sure the letters and graphics "popped" against it.

  • Repetition-I really wanted to repeat the circular feel with the circular pattern in the background and the circular donut shape on the side. I also wanted the dark colors to be repeating and I used the same font.

  • Color-I played around with different colors and worried that this might be too bland for a donut shop but I loved the way to blue stood out.

  • Font-I wanted something that wasn't too serious and wasn't too playful. I decided to use the same font throughout to keep it harmonious.

Photoshop Elements

  • I uploaded a free image of some cake pops and used the libraries tool to create the background pattern.

  • I used the shapes tools to create the donut shape and the bar down at the bottom.

  • I altered the font a bit by italicizing the letters at the bottom and changing the spacing between each letter. I also made the "Judy"s sign larger than the original font.

  • I added a stroke to the "Judys" sign and to the donut shape.

  • I used blending modes for the shapes.
