Design

Purpose-to create a composite image as an artistic piece

• Contrast-I wanted to emphasize the contrasting sunset-color sky with the cool blue of the ocean

• Alignment-I emphasized a left-aligned feel by having the shark over on the lefthand side of the bowl

• Color-I used several different adjustment layers (hue/saturation, color, levels) to make sure the colors were rich and complimentary of each other

Photoshop Elements

• I added the photo of the bowl

• then created a selection of the inside of the bowl and created a layer mask

• I cropped the shark out of its original background and added it to the main project

• I created a clipping mask for the shark

• I used the "select and mask" tool to refine the edges of the shark selection

• I used the "pin-light" blending mode to blend the shark and the bowl photo together

• I added several adjustment layers (hue/saturation, color, levels) to change and adjust the colorization of the photo
