Medieval houses - bakery and blacksmith

This is the build log for my medieval houses:

Well, first things first - the base

I really enjoyed putting together the rockwork and I loved how the texture turned out. I had a hinge for the door so that I could look in to the interior.

I also put the rock bracings on the corner, by sand green bricks.

Furniture for the first floor of the bakery, and in it goes. I still was putting in LBG tiles on the floor at that stage.

I made a cut in the stone wall so customers could buy things without having to enter the building, and then I made an arch by placing 1x2 plates into the bottom of a 1x6 arch, and then placed some cheese slope on the 1x2 plates. I also used headlights and cheese slopes for the wooden beams supporting the reddish brown plates above.

The reddish brown supports in and the waddle and daub. I also added a flower bed on the window sill to give the building some color.

While I was building the interior, I found it amusing that I had to 'feed' the minifigures. Hmm, he needs more greens!

Furniture for the second story included a kitchen bench, a table, chairs, and a large checkered bed, inspired from the blacksmith 21315 set.

Furniture, IN!

Wattle and daub done :D . Two doors can open out to view the interior.

1st photo: How I connected all the 1x1 round bricks properly :D

2nd photo: Roof, trying to show the jumper plates under the chimney.

3rd photo: Roof is on, now to fill in the gables

4th photo: Method for the gables

First house done (of course still vegetation and other details to be added)! The minifigures celebrate with a cookie!

Base for the next house, which the base is connected to the other base via a change plate. Waterwheel came in a little later, which when you spin the waterwheel, the hammer moved up and down :D . A light brick was also added under the fire for more detail and playability .

Water wheel technique and window technique by the vines ',:^D

Door. I had to modify it so it could swing open.

First layer done :D )I use that smilie a lot don't I :D?

To be continued.. the county fair entries have to be in by Wednesday, and it's already SUNDAY!

So! Next I had some fun using RB ingots to support the little roof over the fire-place

And the tan-white wattle and daub style was getting build up - not to mention the half timbers!

And before we go on, I had to have some fun with furniture!

The washing basket , kitchen bench, bedside table and I put the bed from the other house in here because I'll have the blacksmiths interiors open for the county fair. I put another bed in the bakery.

Finishing up the wattle and daub and now onto the dark tan roof, which was a little rushed as the county fair was tomorrow, eek!

Now that I've finished the houses, I turned to the vegetation - the vege (fruity too) patch. I added a pumpkin vine and a berry bush. Second photo shows technique.

Made a tree. Was wondering if it looked better with or without apples. Decided to have apples - more bright and delicious :D

Ready for transport to the county fair... btw it got fist at the county fair :D! Yes! I took home some Lego as the prize!
