This Volunteer Training Guide was developed as a collaborative project by three chapter presidents in the Southeast Region (Tony Aquino - SE Chapter, Dr. Frank Sansone - Emerald Coast Chapter, and Bob Houle - Space/Gulf Coast Chapter). It was created to satisfy a need Chapters have to provide a structured orientation and training program for new BI chapter volunteers to help them become proficient, productive and motivated members of the chapter volunteer team. Part of the benefits of this program, in addition to providing orientation and training, is in the form of "career counselling" to let the volunteers know what opportunities for higher service within the organization exist and how to get on that path.

Each volunteer, upon being accepted as a Chapter Volunteer, will be assigned a mentor to guide her/his development as a valued chapter resource. This training manual provides a road map for her/his training with hyperlinks to primary resources related to the topics at hand. Improvements to this manual are encouraged and should be provided to the chapter's training officer. Also, feel free to contribute to this manual's development by participating in the wiki sponsored by the North Florida Chapter for the benefit of the entire BI community: BIwiki.editme.com.
