Research Topic: Biophysical Chemistry, EPR Spectroscopy
I completed my Master's degree at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, in Molecular and Human Genetics. I joined the MS lab in January 2026. I hold a great interest in fundamental biochemistry. In the MS lab, I have pursued this interest to address some of the crucial questions in biophysics associated with disordered proteins. My other interests are travelling and playing TT.

I hail from Howrah, West Bengal. I have completed my Master’s in Zoology from Bangabasi College, under the University of Calcutta. After that, I joined the Biomolecular EPR Spectroscopy and Biophysics lab in December 2025. My research focuses on using site-directed spin labeling EPR spectroscopy to probe disease-linked structural alterations in the human cardiac troponin complex and define their mechanistic role in cardiomyopathy. I relax by listening to music, walking, recitation and reading Hindu Mythology.

I am Saumya Ranjan. I have completed my Master's degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bhilai, and earned my Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. My research interests lie in the field of bioinorganic chemistry. I joined the MS Lab to explore electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopic methodologies and to deepen my understanding of the structural and electronic properties of metal-containing biomolecules. Beyond academics, I enjoy travelling and fiction writing.
