His research focuses on computer simulations of biological processes at the atomic-electronic level, using computers to understand how biomolecules function. His objective is to model the molecular mechanisms underlying ligand-protein interactions in order to aid in the development of more efficient new drugs.

Dr Sanhueza is a biochemist with a PhD in Natural Resources Sciences from the Universidad de La Frontera. Her expertise focuses on developing sustained release systems for biologically active compounds and evaluating their bioactivity, including biomaterials for tissue regeneration. 

Claudia is currently carrying out a postdoctoral project funded by Fondecyt N° 3220479. Her research focuses on the development of mannose-functionalised dendrimers for the targeted release of miRNA in macrophages infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This approach is considered a potential therapy for the treatment of tuberculosis.

Dr Vergara is a biotechnologist from the Universidad de La Frontera and holds a PhD in Natural Resources Sciences. Her experience is focused on developing lipid nanocarriers (liposomes, bigels, micelles, bicosomes, among others) for the nanoencapsulation of bioactive compounds, emphasizing topical formulations for various pathologies. She has carried out research stays and active collaborations with the Biophysics of Lipids and Interfaces research group of Professor Olga Lopez at the Institute of Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC).

To date, she has a postdoctoral project funded by ANID (Fondecyt N° 3210533) and several publications in the field of drug delivery.
