Australia has long roads. The best thing to manage your fatigue and allow you to concentrate on the road and not your speed is to use a cruise control. These devices connect into the cars engine and adjust the revs accordingly. This keeps your vehicles speed constant at the set point. Cruise Controls are safe to use on the highway at 110km/hr or even in local suburbia at 50 km/hr. Cruise controls can be installed into cars with either manual or automatic transmission systems. Cruise Controls generally start working at a minimum speed of 40 km/hr. The only time it would not be safe to use a cruise control is in slippery road conditions such as heavy rain, icy or gravel roads.
There are three different types of cruise control actuators available. The one to use will depend on your vehicle and what engine you have. Two of these types are the mechanical actuator, working either by electrical stepper motor, or electrically controlled vacuum valves, pulling on a cable connected to the engine throttle assembly. vacuum actuators are usually for petrol engines, whilst the electric actuator is for diesels engines, The last type is the 'Drive by wire' type. These systems connect directly into the car's engine computer (ECU) via the accelerator pedal sensor. A speed limiter Function is also available on selected 'Drive By Wire' systems.

Let us advise you on the correct system to install that suits your vehicle best. There is also the option to install a factory OEM stalk on the steering wheel to control the aftermarket cruise control, if it's available for your vehicle.
