My future plans have been set since the beginning of 11th grade. I had the idea that I may have wanted to become a teacher, and ever since then that's all I've wanted to do. I have always wanted to do something involving being able to help others. For a while, I thought maybe I could become a therapist but I wasn't completely sure. Through asking my teachers and role models, I learned more about teaching as a profession. The schedule, the benefits, and the students all sounded like an ideal job for me. I knew that's what I wanted to do. I know many people my age need someone in their life to talk to, and its so hard being a teenager. Many teenagers struggle every single day and I see it every day walking the halls within my own high school. I've learned about good relationships through conversations with my own teacher. She has helped me grow not only as a student but also as a human being. I want to be able to do that; I want to build relationships with the students and be that person to help and be there for them. I want to build a comfortable environment inside my classroom for the students to be able to feel they can speak their minds and come to me whenever they need help.Â
