My Name is Matthew Dorrance, I am a senior at Cicero-North Syracuse High School. After high school, I am planning on attending SUNY Oswego. I am going to become a high school teacher. I am going for Social Studies Education. I have wanted to be a teacher for many years; I cannot wait. I played a few sports throughout high school. I've played basketball, football, and ran cross country. As well as sports I have always had a love for music. I play the guitar and the bass, I just recently got both last year. I have an amazing family, I have my mom, Johanna, dad, Bert, my two sisters, Briana and Kara, and my dog Zola. They have all been so supportive in my life and have helped guide me through many decisions like the decision of becoming a teacher. I am currently employed at Chick-fil-A. I work in the front of the house and have been there since November 2023. I love my job so much, and the people I have met are amazing. Everyone there is so nice and helpful. I try to work as much as possible since I love my positions and coworkers greatly. I am grateful I have that job because it helps me with personal interactions and helps improve my overall social skills. Over the summer, I worked at First Due Service full time and I plan to do it again this summer. For that job, I test fire station equipment like hoses and ladders. This summer I drove all over New York to many different fire stations testing the stations equipment. I had so much fun working there and I'm looking forward to working both jobs over the summer.
