The Eighteenth Annual Blue and White Golf Classic


The eighteenth annual Blue and White Golf Classic was held at The Bath Golf Club on Friday, June 7. Over 125 sponsors, 200 golfers and the Class of 1969 contributed $38,000 to the Morse High School Scholarship fund in the name of this year’s 50th Morse High School reunion class, the Class of 1969. This included over $11,000 toward the Elford “Brud” Stover Scholarship Fund and $5,000 to the Joseph “Chick” Marchetti. 
Opening festivities around the first tee included the recognition of this year’s Morse High School scholarship recipients including the Brud Stover Scholarship recipient and two Joseph “Chick” Marchetti recipients, the playing of “The Blue and the White” and the National Anthem by the Morse High School band and the naming of this year’s Honorary Chairs of the Blue and White Golf Committee, the Morse family, who were recognized for their contributions over many years to the city of Bath especially downtown Bath, and Morse High School. Spokesperson for the family, John Morse, received the Honorary Chair gifts.
This year’s Brud Stover Award winners – Gross Score are Ben Benoit, Kevin Crosman, Josh Hersom, Mike Shipley and Casey Walker. Second place finishers are Paul Coombs, Dave Dorion, Brian Hatch, Butch Presby and Scott Price. Third place goes to Dominic Marco, Jason Marco, Rick Marco, Todd Marco and Bob Savary.
The Brud Stover Award winners – Net Score are Brian Bennett, Mike Bennett, Tom Bennett, Nathan Craney and Dave Desmond.  Second place goes to Don Carr, Mike Hart, Dan Hart, Chris Marco and Ed McGuire. Third place finishers are Ryan Chaney, Rory Fraser, Jason Harris, Cody Scott and Jaime Wallace. 
Winners of the Closest to the Line Drive are Linda Levesque and Bryan Champagne. Closest to the Pin on #13 are Jamie Dorr (10’ 1 ½”) and JJ Harris (4’9”).
Mike Hart holed the first hole in one in the history of the tournament on the par 3 11th hole.
Next year will mark the 19th year of this tournament that has raised over $625,000 for the Morse High School Scholarship Fund.
