Thank you to everyone who auditioned, we are absolutely thrilled with the turn out for this production. The talent in this group was plentiful and made it very hard to make decisions. If you did not get cast, PLEASE audition for us again. We cannot emphasize this enough: A "no" now does not mean a "no" forever. Also, please consider joining one of our offstage teams, we would still like to have you involved in some capacity.
***SPECIAL NOTE: We will have a handful of actors dressed as ghost ushers on the front of house team. If you were not cast and you are interested in this please sign up for a crew interview! You may be able to do this in combination with some other crews***
All auditionees watch your email for information about opportunities to receive audition feedback
VERY IMPORTANT INFO BELOW!!!
ONSTAGE CAST PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING VERY CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW ALL THE DIRECTIONS
Below is the start of our rehearsal schedule, we will get it all on Virtual Callboard but in the meantime......
Monday, Sept 21 5:00-7:30 is our first rehearsal! Meet on the BCPA stage for our first read thru of the script. Bring a pencil and a water bottle. We will order pizza too!
Tuesday, Sept 22 & Wednesday, Sept 23 We will have rehearsal!! Check VCB and/or we will fill you in on Monday but please hold the dates open unless they were approved on your conflict calendar.
We have a mandatory **Parent Meeting on Wednesday Sept 23 at 7:00 PM** in the BCPA. One of the great things about the theater family is that it is truly a village! Please be talking with your parents about ways that they might get involved in our production. We will need parents to work on set building, painting, costumes, hair/makeup, marketing, ticket sales, ushering, distributing posters and yard signs, etc. There will be an opportunity at the meeting for them to sign up for a team they would like to serve on!
Friday, Sept 25 2:30-5:00 CAST ROUND UP. Full Cast and crew, meet in BCPA. We will take headshots this day so wear an ALL black shirt with NO logos and be ready for your picture! We will also make sure you all know how to use vcb, write your bio and address other business. We will also have a brief Senior Meeting following round up.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO ASAP
Please print this Role Acceptance Form, sign it and get your parents signature. You will need to take a picture of it and upload that when you complete the Student Enrollment Form . Submit it all no later than Sept 30th, so that we know you have committed to your role and can proceed with ordering shirts, etc. If you are waffling about your decision, we encourage you to read this short blog post: (http://jedscott.com/accept-any-role
Also, you will receive an email invite to sign up for Virtual Callboard in the next 48 hours. CHECK YOUR JUNK MAIL IF YOU DO NOT SEE IT WITHIN 48 HRS OF THE CAST LIST POSTING. Please set that up ASAP to start seeing events and specific rehearsal dates/times. If you click on a date, you can see what is being rehearsed, and based on your part, whether it involves you. When in doubt, ask a DIRECTOR! Don’t trust that because your friend said you didn’t have practice that you don’t. Do not add personal conflicts or appointments to the VCB calendar. We will give you some pointers on using VCB, how to add text notifications and parents, etc. at cast round up but we want you on it asap.
One more word to the wise – unfortunately, not everyone today ended up with their dream role. Sadly, that’s the nature of “the business” of theater. There are only so many roles to go around. So if you earned a role in the cast, and you happen to feel that the role you earned was not the role you wanted, just remember that many of your peers would love to be in your shoes. There are plenty of people who desire to be where you are – Handle your excitement OR disappointment with grace and caution – watch what you say to others and what you post online – while you are celebrating, others may be hurting and vice versa.
