When talking about the Raider Team, the first thing people think about is physical fitness. While that may be true, but there is way more to it than that. Raider Team activities consist of team-oriented and athletic events. Which tests teamwork and mental/physical wellness. When competing the team will usually face the challenges of a PT (physical training) test. a rope bridge, logistics relay, as well as a five-kilometer team run. The Raider Team is for anyone who can persevere through challenges, and be committed to the Blythewood Raider Team motto: Arrive! Compete! Conquer!
The Bengal Battalion Color Guard is the best of the best. Color Guard in addition to competing at local, regional, and national meets alongside the drill team. We also did events such as a grand opening for a Chick-Fil-A, we were also able to present the colors for one of the NBA's Charlotte Hornets Basketball team home game. The rifle team is a family. We all work together to help make each other better. During practices, we set up the range and shooting lanes. After that we stretch, then we begin to shoot in one of our three positions (prone, kneeling, and standing). Outside of practice, we help with Drill and Raider meets and lend a hand when needed. We also travel to competitions and go to camps. Overall, the team is a great extracurricular activity and an amazing thing to be a part of.
