Life Members

Considerations

In considering the award of life membership an individual should have demonstrated significant, sustained and high-quality service enhancing the reputation and future of the Bellevue Heights Primary School Calisthenics Club.

Criteria

To be considered for life membership a person must be able to meet the following criteria:

    I.         The length of service to the club should be at least 15 years in either a coaching or committee role. This does not include years as a student of the club.

   II.         The general attitude and overall demeanour of the nominee should be one that reflects a dedication to the values of the club.

 III.         Valued leadership and good role modelling that reflects credit upon the club.

 IV.         The nominee has rendered outstanding service to the club, going above and beyond their regular duties.

Assessment

The following process should be adhered to when assessing life member nominations:

      I.         Nominations to come from coaches and current committee members.

     II.         Nominations to be received by the October committee meeting each year.

   III.         Voting for a person to become a life member is carried by a majority vote of persons present and eligible to vote at a committee meeting.

Presentation 

An appointed committee member or coach is authorised to organise an appropriate keepsake such as a custom set of painted clubs with vinyl lettering (BHPS Calisthenics Club Life Member - Name of recipient), and life member badge to be presented to the newly awarded life member.

Presentation of the life membership should take place at the Bellevue Heights Primary School Calisthenics Club End of Year Concert*. (*If the recipient is unable to attend, alternative presentation arrangements to be made)

The nominator is to arrange for the nominee to attend the award presentation, without letting the nominee know that they are to be appointed as a life member, if possible.

The nominator is to present the award and provide a speech as to the reasons why the recipient has been awarded life membership.

Entitlements

Life membership bestows on the recipient:

      I.         Free admission to any concert organised by the Club. 

     II.         The right to have a voice at any committee meeting: This permits contribution to discussions and ability to express opinions at any committee meeting for consideration. 

   III.         The right to vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
