MULTIPLE CATEGORY SPECIFIC AUDITION INSTRUCTIONS
Multiples will have one 3-4hr mandatory weekly rehearsal from December through May (most likely on Mondays after the Team meetings) Individual/additional practices will be called as needed during the height of the season and based on cast schedules/availability
Rehearsal schedule will be determined based on cast/director needs
STUDENTS WHO AUDITION FOR A SPOT IN A MULTIPLE but are not cast in a Multiple do NOT need to audition a second time. Their audition interview will include discussion of alternate category options/choices.
Returning Team members who are EXEMPT from Auditions may still need to audition for a spot in a Multiple. NOT being cast will NOT negate their exemption to the team overall.
Each Multiple will have a cast of 5 - this season we are rolling with:
Gideon - (4F, 1M) - based on the movie "All that Jazz" - Bob Fosse's self-autobiographical and self-deprecating analysis of an artistic genius tortured by their own flaws and shortcomings in the face of mortality. This production will be highly stylized including choreography, music, and percussion elements.
AvenueQ - (2-3M, 1-3F - 5 total) based on the musical - a sometimes scathing examination of the contradictory struggles of life for young adults in our society. This production will focus on the character relationships and issues with musical interludes and an emphasis on satirical/analytical comedy.
Audition performances should be 2-3 minutes long and ideally include components of acting and singing presentations from the material below, although ANY prepared performance material will be acceptable for auditions.

SINGING COMPONENT:
While both multiples involve singing, you don’t have to be a ‘great’ singer to audition. As part of your Multiple audition you can prepare 15-30 seconds of *any portion* of one or more of the following songs for presentation. Note: Performances will likely be ‘a capella’.
A quick search of Youtube/etc will get you lyrics and recordings.
