IMPROVED AGRICULTURE

BHAKARI is supporting communities, households, and individuals in their journey to self-reliance, while reducing the overall humanitarian caseload in the Karnali River Basin area, focusing on reducing the impacts of climate change and natural disasters while improving food security.

INTEGRATED AGRICULTURE

BHAKARI works to improve household and community food security by facilitating access to resources and creating linkages betwee community groups, service providers and local governing structures. Input vouchers for seeds, livestock and other keyn materials, along with capacity building around breeding and care for livestock will also enhance these efforts.

A total of 231 farmers groups with 5,218 members (69% female) have been formed across BHAKARI working districts. To date, 1,174 farmers (60% female) received short-term agriculture sector productivity or food security training this year.
