EMERGENCY CASH RESPONSE

BHAKARI is supporting communities, households, and individuals in their journey to self-reliance, while reducing the overall humanitarian caseload in the Karnali River Basin area, focusing on reducing the impacts of climate change and natural disasters while improving food security.

EMERGENGY ASSISTANCE

Emergency response interventions aim to reduce harmful coping strategies and maintain food access in the immediate aftermath of a localized shock. Establishing action plans increases the ability of affected households to meet their immediate dietary requirements. This includes cash transfers, cash for work (CfW) and building government capacity to better manage local emergency response and disaster funds.

To date, the program assisted 1,108 households in26 communities through CfW, UCT, and multi-purpose cash transfers as a response to winter drought, fires, and landslides.
