Berkeley Forest Analytics
Berkeley Forest Analytics
The BerkeleyForestsAnalytics R package (BFA) is a suite of open-source R functions designed to produce standard metrics from forest inventory data. BFA’s overarching goal is to minimize potential inconsistencies introduced by the algorithms used to compute and summarize core forest metrics. It was explicitly designed to address common analytical issues including: 1) Unit conversion errors; 2) Missing zeros; 3) Undocumented NA handling; 4) Imprecise scaling; and 5) Ad hoc application of allometric equations. In short, our objective is to obtain consistent results from the same data.
