I am a Forest Carbon Specialist studying trends in forest carbon flux and storage. My work focuses on improving inference about carbon dynamics in California using large-scale forest inventory and monitoring data. I combine forest biometrics, statistical modeling, and national forest inventory systems to better quantify growth, mortality, and long-term carbon change.
Before joining the lab, I was a statistician with the Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) Program at the U.S. Forest Service’s Pacific Northwest Research Station for 22 years, where I contributed to research on forest carbon accounting, tree growth modeling, and tropical forest monitoring in Hawaii, Micronesia, the Philippines and Bangladesh.
