COVID-19

The Berkeley Basket CSA is committed to continuing our essential work feeding our CSA members during the pandemic. This commitment means understanding how COVID-19 affects our agricultural work, adapting our food safety protocols to protect ourselves and our community, and thinking creatively about how to best serve our members during this unprecedented time.

Precautions we are taking:

  • Both farmers are fully vaccinated and boosted.

  • We are limiting community work days and farm events, hosting visitors only when rates of infection are low and when the weather permits us to gather outside.

  • All equipment and tools used for harvest are sanitized before and after usage.

  • We start our harvest day by washing our hands for 20 seconds with soap and warm water.

  • We do not work when we are sick or exhibiting symptoms.

  • All food is washed and packed in sanitized baskets & boxes. All reusable produce bags are washed between uses.

  • For a small number of our immunocompromised CSA members, we are coordinating home delivery of CSA shares. Many thanks to our CSA member volunteers who drop these shares off to their neighbors!
