The Berkeley Basket
An Urban CSA in Berkeley California
Our crowdfunding campaign is now live!
Support the Berkeley Basket Expansion. Donate today to help us feed more folks in Berkeley and model practices that move us towards liberation in the food movement. Please share widely with your network.
Do you have underused garden space in Berkeley with good sun? Would you like to join a group of homeowners who support a sustainable planet by pooling their yards into an urban food source - farmed by a local farmer?
We’re excited to announce that we are looking to expand the Berkeley Basket CSA into additional backyards in 2019! Please email us if you are interested in learning about opportunities to provide land to farm for our urban CSA venture.
Berkeley Basket CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is an intensively cultivated urban farm that currently produces enough fresh produce for 14 families using 3 Berkeley backyards. Members of Berkeley Basket CSA pay a weekly fee during the 7 month growing season, as a means of supporting the farm's operations year-round. In return, members receive a weekly share of fresh vegetables. If you're interested in joining us, please reach out to Farmer Marianne at firstname.lastname@example.org, and she will set up a time to chat with you.
We have successfully run this CSA for almost 10 years. It is a replicable model for production of low input, organically grown, sustainably produced food. We are happy to share our model, which we believe can be widely used, and hope to inspire others to grow and eat sustainable, organic, fresh food in urban and suburban environments.
Please email if you are interested in joining. If we have space, we'd love to share our produce - and community!
