JAT’S BARBERSHOP THE TOP BERTAM

BERTAM - Jat’s Barbershop is a barbershop established in 2020, owned by the alumni of GIATMARA Prima, Tasek Gelugor.

According to the owner, he used to study fashion which is very different from the field of business he is involved in now.

Muhammad Izzat Basyasyar Shuhaime, 22, the owner of Jat’s Barbershop shared the strategies he has taken in developing his business day by day to ensure the growth of his business.

It is indeed an achievement when his barbershop slowly grows to the point that it becomes the talk of the town and even reaches the Deputy Minister of Penang, Dato’ Ir. Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman. Dato’ Ir. Zakiyuddin also once stopped by his shop for a haircut.

This young entrepreneur from Bertam also got more than 200 bookings during the recent festive season and that indirectly increase the profits which were much higher than the usual earnings.

From what was shared by the owner, he only managed to earn around RM 2,000 per month when he first started the business. However, as his business grew, he now managed to double the profits.

“I often promote my barber’s service on social media so that people out there know about the existence of my shop in Bertam.

“I also prepare flyers related to my shop and distribute them to the public as well as ask for help from other friends to help distribute them to inform others about the efforts I am developing,” he said during an interview with Berita DIMENSi through WhatsApp.

He then added that among the steps taken for his business to reach this level is to find employees who have been in this field for a long time to learn in terms of cutting, marketing and management.

Muhamad Zulhelmi, 22, a regular customer at Jat’s Barbershop expressed his satisfaction with the barber’s service provided at the barbershop.

“The barber’s service by the employees at the shop gave me very good satisfaction and that was my attraction to come to Jat’s Barbershop.

“Not only that, the time taken is not too long to cut the hair of each customer and also the price is given according to the age of the customer and it is very affordable,” he said in an interview with Berita DIMENSi through WhatsApp.

The young man from Kedah also stated that the difference between Jat’s Barbershop compared to other shops is the result of a very clean cut that is perfect and the complete equipment compared to any other shops out there.

The shop owner also shares his hope for more people out there who is interested in venture to explore the same field and try to study at GIATMARA as he believes in the good education that have provided by them.
