NUSAJAYA The Sultan Ibrahim Stadium (SSI) has launched in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, at the end of February 2020. Thousands of Johoreans attended the event with great enthusiasm.

During its construction, the world-class stadium was also named the best stadium in Southeast Asia.

It was founded by Tunku Ismail Idris ibni Ibrahim Sultan or known as Tunku Mahkota Johor (TMJ), which can accommodate more than 40,000 capacity in the stadium.

Muhammad Raihan, 27, a loyal Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) football fan, stated that he also did not miss the opportunity to go to the glorious ceremony to see the atmosphere of the opening new stadium on 22 February 2020.

“The atmosphere there was amazing with a spectacular fireworks display coupled with the organizers who have invited international singers from the United Kingdom as well as local singers to perform that night.

“I really hope that with this new stadium, JDT will move forward to bring a new chapter for the game and victory for the club. In addition, to strengthen cooperation with big clubs in Europe so that we can invite them to have a friendly match with my favorite club, JDT, ” Raihan said in an interview with Berita DIMENSi via WhatsApp.

As a fan of the JDT club since 2013, he went to the opening ceremony. He stated that the stadium structure is heart-shaped and resembles a bird's nest.

He found it fascinating compared to stadiums in other states. It was another unique feature for him.

Alif Aiman, 25, one of the members of Boys of Straits (BOS Johor), who was also born in Skudai, Johor has, started following the development of BOS and joined the group in 2013.

He stated that BOS is also involved in a variety of sports in addition to supporting the JDT football team.

“As a part of JDT Fans, the opening of Sultan Ibrahim Stadium was very overwhelming and I am really touched with the struggle of TMJ for inventing this stadium successfully,” he said in the interview with Berita DIMENSi through WhatsApp.

TMJ highly appreciates this act as the president of the Johor Darul Takzim football club president.

It's becoming clearer that sports can motivate people by improving their organization and performance. Sports can also be a source of pride to all groups, especially to the people of Johor for their hard work.
