SHAH ALAM: Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Faculty of Communication and Media Studies (FKPM) through the Centre of Mass Media (COMM) held the #McLIVE 5.0 event as well as the launching of ‘The COMM’ website here at CMT Hub, UiTM Shah Alam on 13 December 2021.
‘The COMM’ website serves as the hub for showcasing students and other faculty members’ works from the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies which are in digital form or have been digitised.
With the rapid digitalisation of the world, this effort was done by the Centre of Mass Media to uphold the aspirations of the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) to increase the digitalisation of university campuses in accordance with the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0).

Officiating the event was UiTM Board of Directors, Dato’ Sri Datuk Wira Dr. Irmohizam Ibrahim together with FKPM’s Dean, Associate Professor Dr. Massila Hamzah.
“Stepping forward, the process of digitisation should be widespread as it would not only benefit the faculty members, but also the surrounding communities,
“I believe that the directions of this faculty with the focus on initiating the development of digital academic infrastructure and also online learning can set the bar for not just students, but the global community,” said Dato’ Sri Dr. Irmohizam Ibrahim in the press release.
The Faculty of Communications and Media Studies Dean, Dr Massila Hamzah also added that more aggressive steps on digitalization should be done as the faculty approaches its fifth decade of establishment.
“The recognition the faculty has achieved for over four decades is proof to us that we can be pioneers and trailblazers in the field. But we shouldn’t rest on our laurels just yet as the COVID-19 pandemic is a sign that we should always remain visionary.
“We will be more aggressive and further widen our reach on the global stage which is apparent in the #McLIVE 5.0 event which sees the involvement of Al Jazeera Media Network,” Dr Massila adds.
