WHIM is company that creates golfing experiences and attire for the sport. They are most well known for setting up putting challenges and events in public areas and store fronts around New York City. They aim to make golf an accessible and approachable sport for all people and have a good reputation for also making functional and stylish golfing attire. I was contacted by the owner to make a maze out of their existing logo for a t-shirt. After some dialogue and a bit of work, we had a design that we were both very happy with.
Ok, so landing a design gig for an organization that you started is not as impressive as signing with a fortune 500 company. I get it. But that does not mean I cannot be proud of my own work. This online school was set up to be a place for teenagers to learn a unique approach to making visual arts and music. We toyed around with a lot of things to call it and ultimately decided to boil down what we are teaching to the most basic elements - shape and sound. Given the name, the idea for the logo came soon after, but perfecting it was not easy for me. It aesthetically represented the kind of different programming I was set out to offer.
