Tea Candle Electricity Generation System
Tea Candle Electricity Generation System
For my final thermodynamics class project I was tasked with generating quantifiable work output using only tea candles as a power source. My team of engineering students ventured out to design a heat engine that was restrained to a $30 budget and 2 tea candles maximum heat source.
Our heat engine design can be categorized as a steam turbine electric generator. The heat engine utilizes a multitude of thermodynamic principles to convert the heat energy supplied by tea candles to mechanical kinetic energy. This kinetic energy is then converted into quantifiable electric potential energy through electromagnetic induction in a DC Motor.
