University of Colorado Boulder Energy Club

In the Spring of 2023 I took over as president of the CU Energy Club. The CU Energy Club is a multidisciplinary club focused on student education and outreach in the energy sector, putting an emphasis on renewable and sustainable forms of energy. Through my presidency, I aimed to help students establish connections with industry professionals and researchers through speaker events, career fairs, and in-person tours hosted throughout the year.

Despite the club's relationships with CU's Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI), and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the organization lost a majority of its members through the COVID-19 pandemic. This led to little to no member involvement, and a lack of CU student education and engagement within the sustainable energy sector. Taking over as president, I coupled my desire to learn more about the energy engineering landscape in Colorado with my leadership skills, and devoted myself to growing the CU Energy Club. Through reorganization, relentless outreach to industry professionals, and recruitment of students, I am proud to say that the CU Energy Club now has over 60 members, with 15 individuals holding officer positions. The CU Energy Club helped me find my passion for energy engineering, and heightened my desire to pursue a career in the energy sector with aspirations in engineering design. I have since resigned as President and maintain a position as a technical advisor to our new leadership team.Â
