COMPETITION SCHEDULE

• Competition times are estimated based on studio registrations and routine durations.

• Dancers must be prepared for a 30-minute leeway in performance times.

• Families can follow the Live Schedule with real-time "On Stage" and "Up Next" updates via the SDC App. (Note: Live Schedule accuracy depends on venue Wi-Fi quality.)
  
  

LIVE STREAMING
Can't make it to see your dancer perform in person? No problem! They offer live streaming at all our events. The Live Stream is available on their website. (Note: Streaming quality depends on venue Wi-Fi.)

NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEO RECORDING PERMITTED
To protect choreography and performer privacy, audience members are not allowed to take photos or record videos during performances.

• Any violations may result in a point deduction or disqualification for the affiliated studio.

• Photography & video recording is allowed during awards sessions.

• Teachers may record their own dancers from backstage.

ENCORE CHALLENGE DANCE-OFF

An electrifying opportunity for selected routines to perform an encore and compete for the title of SDC Encore Champion!

• Two Dance-Offs:

  • Junior Encore Challenge (Petite/Junior groups)

  • Senior Encore Challenge (Teen/Senior/Adult groups)

• Judging Criteria: Selections are based on entertainment value & stage energy, not scores or placements.

• Top Contenders: Announcements will be made throughout the competition, but contenders can be bumped by later performances.

• Important:

  • Late dancers will be disqualified from the Encore Challenge.

  • Pre-rehearsal is not recommended—judges look for dancers who bring their best "in the moment"!

ADJUDICATION, JUDGE’S CHOICE & OVERALL AWARDS

• Awards are scheduled throughout the competition and listed in your program.

GRAND AWARDS CEREMONY
At the conclusion of the competition, we will present our prestigious Grand Awards!

• We highly recommend that a studio representative be present. Awards will not be shipped.

SPORTSMANSHIP & STUDIO SPIRIT AWARDS
At SDC, we value fun, positivity, and kindness above all!

• Our team will be observing dancers, teachers, studio owners, and parents throughout the event.

• A special Studio Spirit Award will be given to the most supportive, uplifting studio!

• You can nominate another studio for acts of good sportsmanship by notifying an SDC staff member.

• Respecting the host venue plays a key role in your studio’s chance to win the Studio Spirit Award. Please help keep the venue clean! Teachers are responsible for ensuring that dancers tidy up after themselves and maintain a clean dressing room.  All dressing rooms are checked at the end of the day.

• Unsportsmanlike behavior from dancers, teachers, or parents will disqualify a studio from the award and may result in removal from the event and studios may not be permitted back at future events.  (No refunds will be issued.)
