STUDENT BEHAVIOUR AGREEMENT - CHAPERONED DANCERS
Participation by students in competition and travel events can significantly complement our students’ dance education. Care must be taken to ensure trips are organized in a manner that maximizes educational benefit and ensures student protection and safety. With the privilege of taking part in this exciting opportunity, come certain student responsibilities.
As a result, we are providing you with Bella Dance Academy’s behaviour agreement for the upcoming competition. These expected student behaviours are intended to assist all dancers, directors, and chaperones in having a safe and enjoyable experience.
We ask you to carefully read the following behaviour agreement. Please initial beside each agreement to indicate that you have read and understand our expectations for the students you are chaperoning.
Student Behaviour Agreement:
____ Students agree to comply with the behaviour agreements.
____ Students are expected to participate in all competition related activities to the best of their ability.
____ Students will remain supportive, encouraging, and kind to all members of their team.
____ Students are not permitted to have their cell phones backstage.
____ Students must be mindful when posting to Social Media while travelling. Students will not post images of other dancers, chaperones, or Directors without their permission, and will only post safe and kind messages to Social Media.
____ While travelling, students are bound by all laws and regulations of that province.
____ It should be understood by each student that they are an ambassador of their family, Bella Dance Academy, the Bella Beats, and of the Director. Students should behave in a manner that is respectful of everyone involved and shall not compromise the safety or emotional wellbeing of other dancers, chaperones, directors, other parents, or others involved in the trip.
____ Students are not allowed to drink alcohol or use drugs at any time. Use of drugs or alcohol, or the commission of a criminal act on the trip will result in the student being sent home early from a trip and further consequences may be administered upon return to Yellowknife.
____ Students will be courteous and considerate of all members of this experience: including fellow dancers, teachers, chaperones, adjudicators, waiters, attendants, etc.
____ Language should reflect the respect we have for each other and for ourselves. Inappropriate language (vulgar, blasphemous) is offensive and socially unacceptable, and presents a poor image to others.
____ Students will treat hotel rooms, dressing rooms, vehicles, and any other location with respect and assist in maintaining tidiness. Any damages caused by a student will be at the student’s and parent’s expense.
____ Students will be on time for all activities/excursions and attend all events.
____ Curfews must be observed at all times. Students may not deliberately leave the hotel room at night (or otherwise). The only students allowed in a hotel room overnight are those assigned to that hotel room.
____ Students may not deliberately stray from the group nor attend or partake in any unauthorized excursions.
____ Students may not drive at any time, nor get piercings or tattoos while on the trip.
____ Students are expected to obey the Directors, chaperones and any other activity leader / teacher during the trip.
____ Students are expected to study / complete homework during scheduled homework times throughout the trip.
