While grades aren't essential for students learning music, they can be a useful way to gauge your progress as you learn your instrument, especially for higher education admissions or qualifications.
Belfast Dreams School of Music are music teachers associated with two supporting professional music 'grades' assessors, RSL and ABRSM.
RSL (Rock School) Awarding the Contemporary Arts
Musical Instruments, Performing Arts and Creative Digital, providing a range of assessments for musicians of all ages and at all levels, from the Prep Test and Initial Grade for beginners to advanced-level diplomas in Performance, Teaching and Directing.
ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music)
Providing a standard range of grades and assessments for musicians of all ages and at all levels, from the Prep Test and Initial Grade for beginners to advanced-level diplomas in Performance, Teaching and Directing.
