Colt was one of the first to introduce direct advertising to his consumers. He dispersed teams of sales representatives around the country, provided them with advertising brochures, detailed price lists, handling and celaning direction broadsides, and counseled them to cerate attractive dosplays and arrangements of his pistols wherever they were sold. Moreover, he was innovative in the design of brochures that advertising his guns. Sometimes he grouped several different announcements and informations together. As Colt embraced the global market, especially England, he and his pistols became an early version of the global brand. His name became synonymous with revolvers as he promoted and sold his guns to the general public and to governments thoroughout the world.
