The nearly 50-year history of the MiG-21 has many exciting and unpublished topics for both the flight enthusiasm and historians alike. One such topic is the ability of the airplane to carry a tactical nuclear bomb, even though its official classification was only a fighter aircraft. The successful introduction of a specialized version of the MiG-21 in the second half of the 1960s progressively expanded the nuclear potential of frontal aviation.

In the 70’s the Soviet Air Force command requirements was to the new type of MiG-21 aircraft whether intended for a nuclear or conventional mission will all be technically capable of nuclear bomb delivery. The publication is focusing on the technical requirements, how the airplane became a nuclear carrier, how it’s operated, how their special weapons handled, which equipment required for tactical nuclear bomb delivery.
