TRYOUT PACKET

TEACHER EVALUATION INSTRUCTIONS

Teacher evaluations MUST be sent to your teachers email. They are due by April 24th. Please follow the steps listed.

Create email(s) to your teacher. One for current 6th graders. Two for current 7th graders
Explain in the email what the evaluation is for and ask them to kindly fill it out for you.
Paste the copied link above into the body of the email.
Click SEND
When the teacher finishes the evaluation it will be sent directly to the coaches.

To have a teacher evaluation filled out by anyone OTHER than the teacher will be an immediate dismissal from tryouts.

TRYOUT CLINIC:

Candidates are expected to arrive at BCMS Gym at least 15 minutes before tryouts begin.
Candidates must arrive in a fitted t-shirt or tank top and shorts. All clothing must be modest and cover the stomach.
Shoes must be athletic and light weight (no vans or converse type shoes).
Hair is up and away from face.
No jewelry, long or fake nails.

TRYOUT DAY:

Candidates will be trying out in groups of three to four candidates.
Candidates will then be asked to showcase standing and running tumbling, if any, on the mat.
Candidates will be asked to show jumps individually.
Candidates will perform the chant, cheer and dance as a group.
We recommend coordinating with your group, if possible to match. Hair is up and away from face with bow.
No jewelry, long or fake nails.

CHEERLEADING TRYOUT CHECKLIST

JUDGES for TRYOUTS: Current coaches are NOT judging tryouts. We will be bringing in guest judges who will be evaluating and scoring. This is to ensure impartial and unbiased scores. Current coaches WILL be in the room and taking notes. Coaches will then tabulate tryout scores and also add a point value for teacher recommendations, behavior and attitude, coachability, and work ethic during tryouts.

MAKING THE TEAM: We will post the numbers of who made the team on the WEST doors of BCMS no later than 9pm. These are the doors where the buses pick you up. If you made the team you will come around to the front of the school and enter the front doors for a MEET THE TEAM PARTY! The party should last no more than 30min.

If your number is NOT on the door then you didn't make the team this year. PLEASE understand this is not the end of the road for you. We understand it is extremely disappointing, but we want you to keep working and gaining the skills you need and try again. You are encouraged to ask coaches for tryout feedback which we will happily give you.
