BCMG Children's Garden
BCMG Children's Garden
Inspiring kids to learn about plants as they ...
... play in a vine-covered teepee.
... use their senses to examine plants.
... investigate plants with animal names.
... explore a monarch way station.
The Children's Garden team focuses on educating the elementary age children how to garden, the tools for gardening and the importance of good gardening practices. Volunteers will assist in creating the Kids’ Garden at the Ag Center for the purpose of demonstration to the youth groups. Volunteers can also help with the presentations at the libraries and to assist at the Jr. Gardener booths. The team will meet once per month to monitor the Kids’ Garden, to plan workshops and to review the requests from outside groups pertaining to gardening with the youth. If you enjoy working with elementary age children and gardening, then this is the group for you! Contact the team chair if you are interested in learning more!
