MD/NP learners complete online POATSP MD/NP course. RN/RPN learners complete POATSP RN/RPN. Nurses seeking CP-OUD designation must be authorized by the BCCSU before starting the education.

Learner completes and brings workbook for review during preceptorship. 

Learner attends in-person preceptorship. Preceptor reviews the learner's workbook. Preceptor provides clinical teaching, supervision, mentorship, and feedback.  

When the preceptorship time is completed, the learner submits the Preceptorship Form (link available in the workbook), which triggers an email evaluation form for you. 

Complete the Preceptorship Review Form. You’ll receive an email titled “Preceptorship Review Form for [Learner Name].” Please complete and submit this form in a timely manner. If you recommend the learner to prescribe OAT, BCCSU will issue their completion letter and notify the appropriate college. If not, BCCSU will follow up with you directly to discuss how to proceed.
