Understanding how past events shaped current events is one of the benefits of studying history. Studying history helps us comprehend and face with difficult issues and challenges by examining how the past has shaped (and continues to shape) global, national, and local relationships between societies and people. It will also encourage us to develop a deeper understanding for multicultural influences within the context of our own communities. By learning from the past, we not only learn about ourselves and how we came to be, but we also develop the ability to avoid mistakes and create better paths for our societies. It will increase our tolerance. Because history gives us identity, it is one of the reasons that all contemporary countries support some kind of history education.
