Over the couse of my artistic career, I have taken the liberty to record several of my pieces while they are being created. Not only does this showcase my process, it also allows me to look back and highlight what I need to improve.
Below is a mix of both physical art and digital speedpaints that I have done over the course of several years. My process often starts the same way, with a sketch on paper that I then add more and more details to or transfer to a digital setting. I use this method when creating both concpets and finished pieces.
Above is my take on a kelpie, equine carnivores that use their mane to latch onto prey and drag them down into the water, drowning them.
Below is part of the process on a piece of Robin (Damian Wayne) which was done in pencil. The complete version is under the colors section, as I digitally added accents to his mask and cape.
A dragon sketch focused on creating texture and lighting with a graphite pencil and eraser.
I made this after I got inspiration from a video game, where my character (the little dino/lizard at the bottom) accidently ended up where I should not have been. While I feel the background could use some work, I learned a lot about texturing and shading with different light sources.
This is a bit of concept art for The Kefira Project. I've gotten more comfortable drawing backgrounds over time. While this isn't as detailed as other pieces you can see here, its purpose was to suggest ideas for what the world could look like in this story, not to be a hyper-realistic render.
This was a personal art project I did based off an older sketch. I challenged myself to create a whole background, something that at the time I rarely did. Present day I do it all the time, and I usually start with the background.
