The Information Support and Services pathway focuses on the design of computing systems. The courses include instruction in the principles of computer hardware and software components, algorithms, databases, and telecommunications.

The Network Security pathway will help students be able to properly design and install and wired LAN, including all network devices, physically connect servers and desktop computers, properly design and install a wireless LAN including all network devices, and make physical LAN connections for servers and desktop computers, integrate the Wireless LAN with wired LAN and work within the ethical and professional parameters in the Computer Networking profession. Students will gain expereince in being a team member, learning new network administration support skills and upgrading existing computer information system skills. Not to mention, students are able to put their skills to work for the school district giving them hands-on experiences as well.

From coding to networking and from wiring to security, Barren County Computer Science students have been on the cutting edge of technology since before society carried computers in their pockets. Since 1999, BC students have been gaining firsthand knowledge through managing the district technology infrastructure, and leading the way in computer sciences. BC tech students repair hardware, run wire and oversee the management of the district technology.

With an enhanced work space and new coursework, students have opportunities for apprenticeships as app and web developers along with College Board Advanced Placement coursework. Armed with hands-on help desk experiences, students can also pursue interests in data security, software development, networking, and much more. Stocked with devices of every kind, this learning environment is conducive to a digital environment for exploring, learning, and inventing.
