Sandy Allen Fine Arts Center Revitalization Project
The Ballard Alumni Association Presents...
Our students deserve a performance space that reflects the excellence of their craft while fostering an educational experience that prepares them for the real world. Unfortunately, decades of use have left the theater with aging infrastructure that no longer meets the needs of today's performers, educators, and audiences.
Current Challenges:
Aged and unreliable theatrical lighting
Outdated sound equipment
Limited stage infrastructure
Worn audience seating and finishes
These issues affect far more than the quality of performances. More importantly, they impact our students who are learning technical theater, stage management, lighting design, sound engineering, and live event production. These are skills that prepare them for college, careers, and creative opportunities beyond Ballard.
Our Mission:
The mission of the Sandy Allen Fine Arts Center Revitalization Project is to preserve Ballard's legacy of excellence by creating a modern, inspiring performance and learning environment where Ballard students can discover their talents, develop their creativity, and gain the skills, tools, and real-world experiences needed to thrive in today's performing arts environment.
The revitalization of the Sandy Allen Fine Arts Center will be completed in phases, allowing us to thoughtfully transform the theater while continuing to serve Ballard students and the community.
Each phase builds upon the last, creating a state-of-the-art performance and learning environment that will inspire generations of Bruins.
