My mom and I drove down to Ft. Lauderdale the day before so I could fly out of FLL.
This airport was playing an interesting mix of ragtime and pop music. The Bahamas Air crew was also hilarious.
The flight into Nassau was short and sweet, but the view of Andros was jaw dropping.

During the layover at NAS everyone arrived fairly early and we had lots of time to start bonding. We took up pretty much all the space at this tiny airport Wendy's. We had a great time getting to know each other.

Once everyone was there, we trekked out to the tarmac to get on our first tiny plane ride and took our first group photo.

The plane ride out was actually pretty fun. It definitely had a lot more character than commercial flights with the windows being slightly ajar and the small size of it. 10/10 would fly again!
The taxi ride from the airport was very fun with Heidi, our driver. On the way, she gave us lots of information about the island from a local's perspective.
When we got to Forfar, we had lots of time to chill and explore the station to get comfortable being there. Several of us went to explore in the shallow sand bar off the station beach and saw and amazing amount of flora and fauna. We saw mangroves, an Atlantic stingray, checkered pufferfish, needlefish, hermit crabs, and several species of fish we did not know how to identify (yet).

After dinner, we got to hear about the staff and their backgrounds such as where they're from and what they studied. They also told us about the shops down the road and we visited one after dinner for a treat.
After we came back from the store, everyone split off to get ready for bed. I went out onto the dock and spent a good half an hour stargazing. It was lucky I choose to do it that night because no other night that week ended up being clear enough to see the stars. 180 degrees of stars and a 180 degrees of ocean is a powerful meditative sight.
