Our tour of Red Bay took us to several different people who taught us about the history and culture of this unique community. The community was founded by the Black Seminoles after the United States took Florida and it was no longer a safe haven for freed or runaway slaves. They crossed the Gulf Stream in dugout canoes, over the Great Bahama Bank, and landed in Red Bay.

Otis is the grandson of the last true Black Seminole, Miss Amelia Marshall. He told us about the founding of Red Bay, and it's development in the 20th century.
The next two people we visited were Nicholas and Eldita. Nicholas showed us his pen of land crabs and let us take picture with them and even catch them! He is a master basket weaver as well. Then we saw Eldita, who does basket weaving and wood carving. Her husband and her son do as well.

Finally we visited Wilton Russel. He is an award winning singer and guitar player who (with his family) performed three songs for us.

After lunch, we went back to Uncle Charlie's Blue Hole. This time, they told us the backstory of how it got it's name, which was kind of spooky!
