Politely challenge misinformation by the media and the responsible authorities, pointing out that rain doesn't contaminate waters, sewage overflow does.

Contact authorities

Contact your councillor or local authority and raise the problem with them. Write them an email, letter or see them face-to-face.

Demand protocols of the EU bathing water directive to be followed and timely information about the cause, approximate duration and plans to prevent future contamination to be stated during short-term contamination episodes.
