Through the Architecture 6.0 curriculum, my understanding of being an architect has evolved from mastering digital drafting tools to becoming an orchestrator of cognitive systems. I've learned that my value doesn't lie in using a single piece of software, but in managing an entire ecosystem—starting with an "anchor" conversational AI for thinking and judgment, then expanding into specialized tools for visual synthesis, research, and performance. This shift means I am no longer just a designer of objects, but a conductor of workflows, responsible for the "discipline of judgment" to ensure that AI-generated possibilities align with real-world intent and responsibility.
I now recognize that a building's performance is as critical as its aesthetics; "looking good" does not mean it "works well". By leveraging AI for environmental, structural, and legal evaluations, I can measure metrics like energy intensity and daylight factor to ensure my designs are truly sustainable and compliant with standards like the UBBL. I've also learned to bridge modern AI optimization with traditional passive intelligence—like the cross-ventilation of the traditional Malay house—realizing that AI shouldn't replace ancient wisdom but rather digitize and scale it for the future.
Ultimately, I see that buildings are transforming from passive objects into "cognitive infrastructures" and living data systems. Moving beyond static BIM models to operational Digital Twins allows for a "pulse" of real-time data that responds to human flow and environmental changes. While AI can automate documentation and monitor these complex systems, I've learned that only human hands can provide the "soul" of a building. My future role is one of system stewardship—balancing efficiency with meaning, ethics, and culture to ensure that technology serves humanity rather than just optimizing it.
