Cut It Out – A Collage Workshop
Get ready to cut, snip, and rethink collage! In this hands-on workshop, we’ll dive into subtraction—cutting shapes out instead of building them up—and discover how negative space can become the star of the artwork. We’ll look at artists who use cutting and removal in creative ways, then play with prompts and simple techniques using ephemera and found materials. Everything is designed to be easy to adapt to your classrooms.
Participants will leave with a toolbox of classroom-ready exercises, access to a curated Pinterest board, and a list of inspiring artists and photographers to share with students.
New date – March 1st
NOTE: Time is 10:00am -1:00pm (includes lunchtime)
4022 E. Cambridge Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85008

Blueprint & Beyond: Mixed Media Cyanotypes and DIY Darkroom Techniques
Participants discovered the creative possibilities of cyanotype printing and explored how to bring traditional photography into any learning space—even without a formal darkroom. In this hands-on professional development workshop, participants learned how to create striking mixed media artwork using the cyanotype process, a historic photographic technique known for its deep blue tones. We also walked through how to set up a functional at-home or classroom darkroom on a budget, with practical tips on space, materials, and safety. We left with tools to inspire your students and expand your own practice.
