Dear Art Educators,
Presentation proposals are now open for the Arizona Art Education Association Conference at Friendly Pines Campsite in Prescott, October 16-18, 2026.
This year’s conference centers on nature, mindfulness, unplugged creativity, nostalgia, and a bit of DIY 90s grunge spirit. Whether you have a classroom lesson favorite or a new idea you’d like to explore, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome workshops, lectures, demonstrations, and discussion-based sessions.
Based on the venue and last year’s feedback… Here is what we would love to see!
Workshops that work without electricity! Unplugged hands-on experiences will be preferred due to limited access at camp.
Nature-inspired projects or themes like en plein air drawing, Andy Goldsworthy inspired photography, or even going on a hike to collect texture rubbings.
Lectures that re-inspire and get back to basics with practical art classroom advice.
Opportunities for hands-on making or collaboration with other attendees with a focus on skill building.
Proposal Deadline: June 30
Lecture Proposal Submission Form (50 minutes)
Hands-on Workshop Proposal Form (1 hour 50 minutes)
New to presenting or need support developing an idea?
If you’d like help shaping a proposal, adapting a lesson to an unplugged format, or simply talking through an idea, I’m happy to help! Feel free to reach out. I’d love to provide some brainstorming space. Reach out by email and we will connect! amandamcglothern@gmail.com
Thank you for considering sharing your ideas to inspire others! We hope you’ll join us in Prescott for a weekend of making, learning, and reconnecting with art in nature as a community.
Warmly,
Amanda McGlothern
