Consultation Map

Use the Google map below to determine which tribes to consult in any particular part of Arizona. To use this map, use the zoom tools to locate your area of interest. Simply click on the map and a list of tribes will appear on the left side of the screen with links to individual tribal pages. These are the tribes that should be included in government-to-government consultation. Click on the "table of contents" logo in the upper left to see additional useful map data, including highway mileposts and county boundaries.

Consultation areas depicted on this map reflect an approximation of the geographic areas within which Native American groups wish to be consulted; they have a strong cultural affiliation with these areas based on traditional cultural beliefs. Please note that it may be appropriate, on occasion, to consult groups outside of their respective consultation areas. Remember that reservation boundaries are not equivalent to ancestrally-affiliated lands and you must consult all of the Tribes that claim affiliation to an area as depicted on these maps, or as otherwise requested by individual Tribes.

The Four Southern Tribes (Ak-Chin Indian Community, Gila River Indian Community, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, and Tohono O'odham Nation) all wish to be consulted, when any one of the four tribes is consulted.

Note that The Hopi Tribe and The Pueblo of Zuni claim the entire state for purposes of Section 106 consultation.
