We are excited to announce the opening of applications for the 2nd African Youth Summit on Biodiversity, themed "From Awareness to Action: Empowering Youth for Biodiversity Conservation."

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 at the time of the summit.
Applicants should be citizens of any African country or residents actively engaged in biodiversity conservation efforts within Africa.
Applicants should demonstrate a genuine interest in biodiversity conservation and a passion for environmental sustainability.
Preference will be given to applicants who have prior experience or involvement in biodiversity-related projects, initiatives, or organizations.
Applicants must articulate their motivation for attending the summit and how they intend to contribute to the discussions and outcomes.
Applicants must be available for the summit days.
About the AYSB2023 Theme
AYSB2023 has a crucial mission: to empower young Africans to take action and develop solutions for the biodiversity crisis and other environmental challenges. The theme, ‘From Awareness to Action: Empowering African Youth For Biodiversity Conservation,’ emphasizes the need to move beyond simply raising awareness about biodiversity conservation to take concrete and meaningful actions to protect and sustainably manage biodiversity in Africa. It recognizes that awareness alone is not enough and that empowering African youth to take action is crucial for achieving positive conservation outcomes. African youth represent a significant demographic group with immense potential to make a difference in safeguarding biodiversity. By engaging and empowering African youth, the summit seeks to harness their creativity, passion, and innovation to drive tangible actions that contribute to biodiversity conservation efforts across the continent.
