My warmest greetings to all Certified Public Accountants as we celebrate this year’s Accountancy Week from July 11 to 17, 2021. The Board of Accountancy commends the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) for spearheading the week-long celebration. The involvement of the sectoral organizations, namely: the Association of CPAs in Commerce and Industry (ACPACI), National Association of CPAs in Education (nACPAE), Association of CPAs in Public Practice (ACPAPP), Government Association of CPAs (GACPA), likewise deserves due credit. It is really heartwarming to see that all CPAs in the country are joining hands to celebrate this very important event.
The weeklong celebration is one that Filipino CPAs are looking forward to. Our participation in the activities lined up for the week manifest our unwavering support to our profession. It is also an opportune time to renew our commitment to the maintenance of high standards of the profession, adherence to ethical responsibilities and the need for continuing professional development.
We cannot deny the fact that Certified Public Accountants play a crucial role in promoting transparency in financial reporting which is essential in the economic development of our nation. As we fulfill our duties and responsibilities, I trust that all of us will continue to perform our duties with dignity as we lend our expertise to our respective institutions, that we may collectively fuel our drive towards positive reforms and prosperity. May this year’s celebration be an inspiration to everyone as we remain committed to our oath as a professional in everything we do.
Let us make this year’s Accountancy Week celebration be very memorable for all of us.

This week is an exceptional period of our lives as accountants as we conduct our weeklong festivities.
No profession stays the same. If it does not evolve, it does not survive. Constant changes in the world of business require continuous skills development, and that is key for us to succeed.
Years ago, technical topics would include the accountants’ “traditional” areas of focus. But today, we are developing into consultants and advisors to our respective organizations, clients and stakeholders. Topics now span a wide range of top-of-mind concerns – from strategy, governance, sustainability to cybersecurity, to name a few.
However, not all of us have the opportunity to acquire these currently essential skills to be at par with the rest of our colleagues in the profession. Capabilities are being redefined, grounded on three dimensions: business acumen, analytics acumen and technology acumen.
As pressures continue to mount, targeting on our gaps is the start of gaining today’s requisite capabilities.
Congratulations on making the investments for your continued growth as an accountancy professional. We are optimistic that this will help you rebalance your professional charts.
Thank you for your active participation in all our events! May these create a great impact on you.

To my fellow CPAs, a warm and hearty welcome to our 2021 Accountancy Week!
Once again, we are celebrating one of the highlights of our professional calendar virtually, still unable to fully gather in person. While this may be disappointing to some, it does give us an opportunity to take to heart this year’s theme: Transform: Embracing Possibilities, Realizing Potentials.
Since last year, we have all been hearing about the “new normal,” one where practically all of us are working from our homes, unable to gather with anyone outside our bubble. As life-saving vaccines begin to do their work around the world, we are now again at a transition point to another new normal – one where we may be able to move around and gather more freely, but one that still looks nothing like our pre-pandemic normal.
This is our world now, and it is up to us to make the most of it – to see the new possibilities and the potential in this changed environment and to adapt so that we can grow and excel as we did before this health crisis disrupted our lives.
On behalf of the Association of CPAs in Public Practice, I wish you all a fruitful and meaningful Accountancy Week. I hope that these next seven days will give you the tools, the support, and the inspiration you need to embrace what lies ahead of us as our world begins to heal.
Mabuhay ang PICPA! Mabuhay ang ACPAPP! God bless us all!

Greetings of good health and safety to my fellow CPAs!
Although we remain socially distanced for the most part, I am pleased to welcome all of you to our 2021 Accountancy Week – truly one of the highlights of the accountancy calendar and an event that I am proud to see we have continued to celebrate, crisis or no crisis.
This year’s theme – Transform: Embracing Possibilities, Realizing Potentials – invites us to see our world, changed and uncertain as it is, as one that is still full of possibilities for growth and for success. For us in the Association of CPAs in Commerce and Industry (ACPACI), we are seeing bright spots emerging from this unprecedented crisis, as businesses and workers adjust and adapt to our new reality.
This resolve to find a new path when the status quo no longer works for us and our stakeholders and this belief that hard times can bring out the best in us will, no doubt, echo throughout this Accountancy Week as we also spend this time recommitting to our roles in helping our nation get back on its feet.
In the next seven days, I hope you will pick up many lessons and tools that will help you chart your own road to recovery.
On behalf of ACPACI, I wish you all a successful Accountancy Week!

Our warmest felicitations to all Filipino Certified Public Accountants from the different sectors as we hold our Accountancy Week Celebration (AWC) 2021. It is an honor to be with brilliant minds from all over the country to learn while having fun in the various events organized by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants, in collaboration with the four sectoral organizations, the Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy, and other partners in the profession.
This AWC is our second year that we cannot conduct this annual event face-to-face because of the restrictions in the midst of the prevailing world health crisis brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. This may initially appear to be a setback. After deep reflection, it can be realized that this limitation has opened a beautiful and cost-efficient chance to do our activities in the virtual world. The use of technology in our various endeavors has been a favorite topic in seminars and trainings, but we have not exhaustively explored the possibilities this can bring because many of us prefer to achieve our primary objectives through traditional means. This pandemic, however, has radically changed the landscape. The resilient and adaptable nature of the Filipino has helped us cope with the current circumstance and even unleash the creativity in each one of us to extend a helping hand through community pantries and other social responsibility activities. It has also enabled us to maximize the use of online platforms to conduct research. Indeed, this world health crisis may have brought out the worst in us, but it has also illuminated the best in us.
PICPA’s theme for FY 2021-2022 has aptly captured what we have started – TRANSFORM: Realizing Potentials, Embracing Possibilities. We hope to sustain this continuous process even when we reach herd immunity or protection from the coronavirus. The National Association of CPAs in Education vows to be in the forefront with our partners in the profession, to conceptualize and organize projects and activities geared towards a positive transformation that will elevate our treasured profession to greater heights on the road to the Centenary of the Accountancy Profession in the Philippines and beyond all for the greater glory of God.
Let us all have a productive and delightful Philippine Accountancy Week Celebration 2021.
Stay safe, healthy, and happy. God bless us all!

Today, we are celebrating one of the oldest and well-respected profession, our very own Accountancy Profession as we are moving towards its 100 years A. It has been said that Accounting is an ever-changing profession as it adapts, it evolves and it transforms. Not so much on the theories and principles by which it is founded, but on the way and strategies our profession is being implemented, applied and fulfilled not only in the Philippines but around the world.
With this year's theme: "TRANSFORM, EMBRACING POSSIBILITIES, REALIZING POTENTIALS", it is very fitting in this era of new normal where everybody embraces the challenging times brought about by the pandemic. And we, accountants are accustomed to evolution and transformation. While the past year and a half has undoubtedly been tough for many with our resiliency, we courageously soldier on this unprecedented misfortune of covid-19.
For CPAs in government service, we have always been branded as the guardians of public funds and we are held accountable for it. Perhaps that is the reason why accountability and accountancy are spelled with similarity. As the new President of Government Association of CPAS (GACPA), we will try our best to be your anchor in our quest for excellence in the practice of our profession. In so doing, we can assure our members that we will continue to uphold GACPA's mission and vision, that is to promote and maintain high professional standing among CPAs in public service. We can only do so if we serve our respective offices with honesty, integrity and transparency in the performance of our sworn duty, that is to protect and safeguard the allocation of public funds so that every `centavo is accounted for the greater benefit of every Filipino.
