As I have in the past several weeks, I ran to Wash Park several times this week. Each time I went, the weather was warm and sunny. More of the trees had started to turn fall colors and a bunch of leaves had fallen leaving beautiful views all over the park. As I walked there Friday many dogs were out going on walks and I probably pet about six dogs; each one reminding me of my dogs at home. The park was very crowded that day but everyone was there enjoying the warm sun and connection to the nature.
The trees changing colors.
The normal geese I see.
As I walked around the park I thought about how each person in their own way connects to nature. As I made my loop around the park I observed the people around me. One girl was sitting on the bank of the pond reading a book. Another was sitting just on the grass by herself taking in her surroundings. Others were walking and stopping to take pictures much like me. Everywhere I looked people were enjoying nature in their own special way. People all around me were just taking moments out of their day to spend under the warm sun and soaking in all the pretty views. People were reconnecting with nature for the day much like some of the readings have advised us too. Some were trying to get as close to the ground as possible by laying in the grass while others just sat on benches enjoying their day. I think the future of my site will be successful. I think sense the park is surrounded by a great neighborhood with close access to several schools near by so it will stay busy. The park is central and helps a lot of people disconnect form the booming city around them so people will continue to utilize the park.
