About the Staff

About the Director and Coaching Staff for the 2017-2018 Season

As a smaller club, Arcadia Volleyball Club has a strong commitment to players and parents in building a sense of community. We have been able to maintain exceptional players-to-coach ratios by having a dedicated coaching staff comprised of a head coach and an assistant coaches plus additional volunteer coaches who help lower our ratio down to 4 to 1 at times. Club Teams and Youth practices are typically run with a players-to-coach ratio of 6 to 1 or less.

Flora Yang (Director AVBC)

  • Coach Flora founded Arcadia Volleyball Club in 2013 and is an USA Volleyball IMPACT Certified Instructor. Originally, AVBC was started for her daughters and their friends to play together and just have some fun. Fun is contagious and AVBC has grown to be much more. We strive to balance playing time with a competitive spirit. Our focus is on the essence of competition in how the players approach the sport and not just on the Wins/Losses.
  • Her day job is as a financial administrator at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena.
